ABSTRACT
Neural-mediated syncope (NMS) shows a very high prevalence between elderly persons, up to a 20% in persons of 75 years old, and older. From a hemodynamic perspective, NMS is produced by an abrupt redistribution in the intravascular volume towards the inferior members when orthostatism position is assumed. Desmopresine has been used in patients with disautonomy to avoid hypotension; however, it hasn’t been used in NMS. In this work, we report our experience with NMS patients undergoing inclination tests.
