ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the quality of care of the Intensive Care Unit of the Angeles Pedregal Hospital (UTI-HAP).
Material and methods: Retrospective cohort study conducted between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. To establish the quality of care, the study was divided into three sections: Section I; Demographic analysis of the cohort, Section II; Mortality analysis and Section III; Analysis of quality indicators (prevention of unscheduled extubation, to avoid hypernatremia in the critically ill patient and to attenuate the neuromuscular syndrome of the critically ill patient). For statistical analysis, statistics were used with measures of central tendency and dispersion.
Results: Our cohort was made up of 288 patients. A mortality incidence of 12.5% was presented and a predicted mortality of 28.6% was calculated using SAPS III, with a standardized mortality ratio of 0.43. Appropriate follow-up was given to each of the quality indicators with 100% adherence.
Conclusions: Patients who entered the Intensive Care Unit of the Angeles Pedregal Hospital were provided with a good quality of care.
