New health technology for the development of regenerative medicine in Santiago de Cuba

ABSTRACT
In Cuba, since 2004, when the first implants of autologous adult hematopoietic stem cells were successfully performed, their use has been progressively increasing, that has already spread throughout the country. In Santiago de Cuba there was no area with adequate conditions to develop regenerative medicine, which led to the creation of the Regenerative Medicine Outpatient Service (SAMERSAC) in the Provincial Blood Bank, where it is carried out the obtaining and prosecution of the cells and the attention of the selected patients, according to the established inclusion approaches in the registered investigation projects. The SAMERSAC is a Technological Scientific Service that integrates to the units of health of the county regarding investigation lines related with the regenerative medicine. The creation of this new service allowed the introduction and the beginning of the development of the regenerative medicine in Santiago from Cuba, where you continuous working and constantly investigating with the application of the novel procedures that contributes this new discipline doctor.REFERENCES
