ABSTRACT
Khyposis as sequel of myelomeningocele is a deformity that causes multiple problems, including ulcers, functional limitation because of the use of their arms as a support and decrease pulmonary functional capacity. The treatment of this patient is complex. In 1968 Sharrad described for the first time a surgical technique for the management this patients. Since then, multiple technique have develop, but none have been accepted as the standard treatment. In 1998 we began the treatment of this group of patients with an implant designed by Dr. Alfredo Cardoso that we named ACM plate. As a preliminary report we describe here 15 patients treated with this implant for an average of 2.9 years.REFERENCES
