Estudio de queiloscopía con el método de Renaud en hombres y mujeres

ABSTRACT
In forensic dentistry one of the methods used is cheiloscopy, which is the study of lip impressions. The labial traces are unique, permanent and invariable, these characteristics allow to identify people when comparing lip marks.
Material and Methods: The universe of study was 500 students of the Unidad Académica de Odontología of the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit. The inclusion criteria were: that they were originally from the State of Nayarit, Mexico. Students of the Unidad Académica de Odontología of the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit and who are between 18 and 24 years of age. The exclusion criteria were that they presented the painted lips or any pathology present on the lips. The method of cheiloscopy de Renaud was used and the data was recorded in the Microsoft Excel program.
Results: In men, the labial groove of type G was found in 21.27%, followed by 18.83% of groove type C and of Type D with 13.82%. The female population, the labial groove that was found with the highest percentage was the type C with 24.25%, followed by type G with 21.24% and type D with 13.09%.
Conclusion: The type of labial sulcus that was found in the highest percentage in this investigation was C and G, although in men and women it varied which one was first.
