Prevalencia de conductos en C en órganos dentales de pacientes que acuden a clínica universitaria

ABSTRACT

Aim: to know the quantity of C-Shaped root canals attended in the Clinic of the Specialty of Endodontics in a period corresponding to August 2016-June of 2017. Material and methods: this investigation was carried out by means of the counting of clinical histories of the patients who attended the Clinic of the Specialty in Endodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa during the period from August 2016 to June 2017. These were accounted for and recorded, taking those who had C-shaped root canals in a new table, where were registered gender variables, dental organ in which it was present, type of conformation, presence or absence of bilaterality and ancestry. Results: a prevalence of 11.3% of the c-shaped was found. This anatomy frequently appears in the lower second molars. Within the results, there was no predilection of this anatomy with respect to gender, 100% of the c-shaped root canals presented bilaterality in patients of Mexican nationality without report of ancestry to other countries, they were mostly present in lower second molars, followed by wisdom tooth.
