Peloid and floral therapy combined treatment in juvenile acne

ABSTRACT
Introduction: juvenile acne is the dermatological disease that most affects young people.Objective: to explore the therapeutic effectiveness of peloid and floral therapy in juvenile acne.
Methods: a quasi-experimental study, a therapeutic intervention, before and after without control group was carried out in patients with juvenile acne in the psychology consultation in Madruga health area at Maria Emilia Alfonso Teaching Polyclinic from January to July, 2017. The population was formed by 10 patients with the informed consent of parents and adolescents, there were certain selection criteria during the stages of diagnosis, intervention and evaluation taking into account the ethical principles of discretion, beneficence and no maleficence. A combined treatment of peloids and floral therapy was applied. The Microsoft Office, 2007 for Windows software package was used, reflecting the information through the descriptive statistics.
Results: ages from 12 to 19 for a 40% and the female sex with 60 % prevailed, after the intervention there were low levels of anxiety and depression with 80 and 90 % respectively, with time of evolution after 15 days for a 70 % with evident improvement and at 21 days 60 % had been healed.
Conclusions: the combined use of peloid and floral therapy in the reduction of symptoms of anxiety and depression as a condition, as well as the healing or improvement of juvenile acne in patients is effective, so it can be used therapeutically with good results, being very economical.
