ABSTRACT
Introduction: During the monitoring of the "Salvador Allende" Polyclinic in the municipality of Boyeros, the insufficient quality of the epidemiological surveys that were found attracted attention, which stimulated us to carry out this study. Objective: describe the actions carried out to contribute to the improvement of the filling of epidemiological surveys in the Salvador Allende Polyclinic during June and July of 2017.
Method: A descriptive study was carried out, using the action research methodology, with the realization of a diagnosis, modification of the existing model and delivery of reports to the different areas.
Results: Errors were observed in 69 epidemiological surveys (59%) of the total related to the lack of description of the data (53.04%) and incomplete data in 48.69%. The most affected items were the date of completion of the focal, adulticidal and perifocal treatments with 59.13%. A report was made to the management of the area, contacts were established with doctors and nurses in the polyclinic and clinic management positions, the existing epidemiological survey model was adapted for cases of dengue and zica, contacts were established with the office messenger and personnel from the Hygiene and Epidemiology area and follow-up was indicated for the review of the actions.
Conclusions: The actions contributed to the decision making for a better follow-up in the filling of the epidemiological surveys, which contributed to an improvement in the surveillance of the cases.
