ABSTRACT
Introduction: It is estimated that one in 10 adults suffer from chronic kidney disease in the world, a consequence of a progressive increase in the incidence and prevalence of chronic diseases, which are capable not only of triggering it, but also of accelerating the progress of the disease. until it reaches stage V and merit replacement renal therapy. Objective: To know the different basic pathologies that trigger chronic kidney disease leading to renal replacement therapy or hemodialysis. Methods: A descriptive study was carried out with field design, clinical-epidemiological and transitional, through the review of 86 clinical histories, as records of current medical data of all those patients admitted to the hemodialysis units of a private clinical center of Valencia (Venezuela) in the year 2015. Results: 52% of the patients had a history of hypertension, 53% of diabetes mellitus, 37.2% of congenital renal malformations and 30% of urinary tract infection. 52.3% of the patients were older than 60 years. Conclusions: Among the basic pathologies that are most related to the development of chronic kidney disease with admission to hemodialysis in the private center unit, we find: development of nephroangiosclerosis, diabetes mellitus due to the development of diabetic nephropathy and finally, the rest of the kidney diseases associated with preexisting anatomic malformations with less relevance recurrent urinary tract infections.REFERENCES
