ABSTRACT
At present, liver disease is not considered a serious public health problem, firstly, because the real prevalence of some entities such as carriers of hepatitis B and C is not known, and secondly because most diseases of this organ are chronic, and like any disease of this type, they manifest themselves when the condition is very advanced or the damage is irreversible, as occurs in non-alcoholic fatty liver. On the other hand, the participation of the laboratory is vital, since the profile of hepatic chemistry (badly called liver function test), are included with great frequency in routine examinations in asymptomatic patients as symptomatic, so it is of vital importance that the results are correctly evaluated.
