ABSTRACT
A study done with 116 university students of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Iztacla is presented, in order to evaluate the correlation between the knowledge they have about HIV-AIDS and the anxiety-state levels prior to the application of the rapid test, considering that diagnostic tests can generate anxiety responses, especially to the HIV outcome. For this, two instruments were used: Adaptation of the HIV-AIDS-65 Information Questionnaire of Paniagua, O'Boyle and Wagner (1997) and the IDARE-Anxiety Test of Spielberger and Díaz-Guerrero, (2007). The Kolmogorov- Smirnov normality test showed that the data on anxiety was distributed normally, however there was no normal distribution on the knowledge results of HIV-AIDS, therefore a correlation analysis was performed. Rho de Spearman, who pointed out that there is no significant association between both variables. Is inferred that anxiety levels could be gap to other variables such as the attitude towards diagnosis, the perception of self-efficacy and the coping styles in the face to uncertainty, which is why and according to the findings of this research, it’s unlikely that the knowledge level of HIV-AIDS is related in certain way to states of anxiety-state in this population.REFERENCES
