ABSTRACT
Amphetamines are included among the drugs of abuse most frequently used; 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly named "ecstasy", is used by millions of people worldwide; rapid detection methods are usually performed on blood samples and urine; the use of oral fluid as a biological substrate provides advantages over other substrates in terms of ease of sampling without adulteration. In this review we analyze the existing evidence about the methodological techniques used in the oral fluid detection of MDMA and the field of application.
