ABSTRACT
Postmortem toxicological analysis of cocaine and derivatives has usually been done in urine and blood samples. However, in some cases we do not have such samples, so it is imperative to use another kind of substrates. In recent years there has been an increasing interest in the utilization of, the methodology used at present as well as the results of recent studies on the sensitivity vitreous humor as a cocaine and benzoilecgonine analysis susbtrate. In this review we analyze the characteristics that make vitreous humor a useful substrate for toxicological analysis of cocaine and derivativesand specificity of this determination.
