ABSTRACT
Scrotal cystocele is defined as herniation of the bladder into the scrotum which is a rare disease that occurs in 0.5-3% of all inguinal hernias. Most cases are asymptomatic and found incidentally during hernioplasty, however when a large scrotal cystocele is found has a very specific clinical scenario and must be treated surgically to avoid complications as kidney failure. The aim of this article is to describe an unusual clinical case of scrotal cystocele causing kidney failure and to review medical literature of scrotal cystocele or inguinoscrotal bladder hernia to describe its incidence, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment and eventual complications.
