ABSTRACT
The present document reviews the main chronic diseases and special populations that are affected by dengue, and which are often not taken into account during the arbovirus seasons, emphasizing that some entities have their particularities that cause greater vigilance by the risk of complications and increased morbidity and mortality, such as patients with heart disease, autoimmune, renal diseases, among others. Likewise, special populations such as the pediatric population, pregnant women or older adults, who should be better supervised and monitored, are mentioned as maternal or child deaths may occur during the dengue season.
