ABSTRACT
Each and every tooth has its function, as well as a precise place of eruption, and time to exfoliate, when these suffer some
alteration we have great consequences in the oral cavity, one of them is the ectopic eruption, which brings us several
consequences such as: dental retention, root resorption, dental crowding and maxillary collapse among others.
This is the reason why the dental health personnel should know the etiology of the ectopic eruption, as well as the moments in
which it is suspected; in this article we will review these aspects, as well as the early treatment options. And late of the ectopic
eruption of the maxillary canine, remembering above all because this tooth is vitally important in terms of the aesthetics and
functionality of the patient.
