ABSTRACT
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world, end the third cause of death in Mexico. Head and neck cancer is the
tenth cause of death worldwide. The main treatments for this pathology are resection, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, alone
or combined. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy seek to attack cancer cells, although they can affect normal cells near the
irradiated area or tissues of rapid cell renewal, in phases of cell cycle equal to that of tumor cells. As a consequence of the
condition of normal cells there is the possibility of presenting pathologies secondary to these treatments. The aim of this review
of the literature is to describe oral disorders secondary to chemo and radiotherapy in patients with head and neck cancer.
