ABSTRACT
Communication serves not only for obtaining information that physicians needs for carryng out their functions, but also can
be employed so that patients perceive that they are being heard, for patients to fully underrstand the significance of their disease, and so that patients feel they are co-participants in their own healthcare. It corresponds to Family Physicians to identify, in their day-to-day medical practices, their own difficulties and to reflexively transform these into positive participation in their patients’ healthcare.
