ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Congenital Cardiopathy is defined as any anomaly of the structure or the function of the cardiovascular system, present upon the birth, even though it is detected long afterwards. There is a scientific important problem that consists in an increment of pregnant woman's with congenital cardiopathies in Cuba as compared with another existent's diseases.Objectives: To describe the principal clinical– epidemiologic variables related with the congenital cardiopathy and pregnancy.
Method: Was realized a descriptive retrospective observational study of the principal clinical- epidemiologic variables related with the congenital cardiopathy and pregnancy.
Results: The mean age of the patients was 25 years. The time of gestation at the entrance oscillated between the 6 and the 41, 2 weeks and to the childbirth between 33 and 42 week.
Conclusions: The majority of the patient with congenital cardiopathies had an evolution during the pregnancy similar to the women without congenital cardiopathy. The complications were not relevant with a multi-disciplinary tracking. The importance of the study consists then in the contribution to the knowledge of the characteristics of these patients for its better handling and prevention of complications.
