ABSTRACT
The drainage of all the pulmonary veins to any location other than the left atrium constitutes the entity known as the
total anomalous connection of the pulmonary vein (TAPVR). These can drain to the right atrium, the coronary sinus
or other systemic veins. We present the case of a preterm newborn with respiratory distress and cyanosis during his 4th
day after birth in whom a total anomalous connection of the mixed type was diagnosed
