ABSTRACT
Rhinosinusitis is one of the respiratory diseases that most affects the quality of life of patients, despite
this, there are still gaps in the clinical approach, so not all cases are correctly diagnosed, as a consequence
management and treatment are not always appropriate. According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-
Head and Neck Surgery, this entity is the fifth cause of prescription and use of antibiotics.
The objective of this article is to present a current outlook of the disease and provide guidance for its
correct diagnosis and therapeutic approach.
