This goal will be achieved by means of interventions aimed to increase food production, augment access to them, correct existing food and nutrient vulnerabilities, and to empower families in the best food practices of children living in originary and rural communities of the Andean region.A nutritional component is foreseen as part of the “IssAndes” Project for obtaining a nutritional baseline and formative research, along with the design and implementation of an educational strategy, this last item built upon the results of the two previous ones. With the completion of the IssAndes Project´s nutritional baseline reliable estimates of indicators for food, nutrition, health and food safety of the vulnerable groups surveyed in the project´s intervention area will be obtained.
