ABSTRACT
This research is devoted to the study and analysis of the religious persecution experienced by an evangelical minority in the community of Timilpan, in the state of Mexico, during much of the 20th century and the first of the XXI century. There are few Mexicans who have become aware of the persecution that still exists in Mexico due to the adoption of religious beliefs, often dissenting from the Catholic creed. On this occasion we direct our effort not only to present the concrete case of persecution to an evangelical minority but to study two phenomena involved in this case: the first is the making of history as the main resource for the institutionalization of an identity and second, the way in which an imaginary is constructed that derives from a concrete practice such as religious persecution. For this reason, two theoretical parameters have guided our research: on the one hand, the historian Michel De Certeau has been referred to as reflecting on the "problem of history" and on the other hand, the theory of the imaginary who has allowed to think about the phenomenon of the imaginary derived to the religious persecution. In general this case allows to continue the reflection on the constituent elements to the phenomenon of the persecution and extermination of minority groups.REFERENCES
