ABSTRACT
Introduction: Surgery is the treatment of choice in located renal cancer and radical nephrectomy is the most frequent surgery, entailing loss of renal function (chronic kidney disease). The increase of diagnosis at initial stages has encouraged treatment by nephron-sparing surgery. Objective: To assess renal function in patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery of parenchymal renal tumors. Methods: A retrospective study was carried out at the National Center of Minimally Invasive Surgery between 2010 and 2016 in patients undergoing laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) or laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery (LNSS). We considered pre and post-operative estimated glomerular filtration rate (e-GFR) the main variable. Results: The estimated preoperative GFR was significantly than in the postoperative period. In the LRN group, more patients developed CKD, but it was not significant (p= 0.0470) with respect to LNSS. Conclusions: Postoperative GFR was significantly lower than preoperative GFR in laparoscopic surgery for renal tumor, regardless of the type of surgery. LNSS had better filtrado glomerular, although the difference was not significant with respect to LRN.REFERENCES
