ABSTRACT
Introduction: In this millennium the world tendency in Higher Education is the scientific and technological integration that allows the academic management of all the actors involved in the educational process, assisted by the Information and Communication Technologies in which they are present the virtual learning teaching environments. Objective: design an Educational Program that contributes to the use of virtual teaching-learning environments by Nursing teachers in the educational process. Methods: a systematization, documentary analysis, logical history was carried out, as well as interviews, surveys and knowledge tests for Nursing teachers. Result: an Educational Program was elaborated based on the learning needs detected and contextualized to the environment in which they develop, in correspondence with the foundations of the theory of Advanced Education, the requirements of society and the services assumed by the National System of Health in the use of Information and Communication Technologies for the solution of problems, in the academic training of nursing teaching professionals. Conclusion: the main theoretical references were systematized and there are regularities in the literature reviewed, the factors that influenced the use of virtual teaching-learning environments were characterized, a new theoretical model of the Educational Program was proposed based on the learning needs, the results achieved were validated through the evaluation of the formative actions of the teachers in the four levels of the Kirkpatrick model.
