ABSTRACT
Autoimmune diseases affect the salivary glands and Sjögren’s (SS)
syndrome, which is considered a clinic-pathologic syndrome resulting
in autoimmune destruction of the lacrimal and salivary glands.
The algorithm for imaging the salivary glands depends on the clinical
situation with the patient present, and this in turn impacts on the
range of studies needed to assess the injury. Know diagnostic tools
for imaging promotes the optimization of the use of resources for
patient health.
