ABSTRACT
Kawasaki disease (KD) is a vasculitis of the small and medium sized vessels, of unknown etiology. It is most often seen in children between six months and five years of age. The diagnostic criteria include fever for at least five days, accompanied by at least four of five criteria. Incomplete forms have been described in patients who do not meet all clinical criteria for classical KD. In this article we report the case of two patients, one with diagnosis of complete KD who does not respond to treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin, requiring a second administration, and another with incomplete KD, who presents adequate response to conventional treatment.
