ABSTRACT
Reconstruction of defects on the malar eminence must take into account the zygomatic convexity, the variable coloration and texture of the adjacent skin, the location of pilose areas and the preservation of the lower eyelid functionality. Given the complexity of repairing this anatomic area, we present this tunneled island pedicle flap as a feasible and safe option for reconstruction of wide defects of the malar region in a single-stage procedure, ensuring aesthetics and functionality.REFERENCES
