ABSTRACT
Objective: To show the reached experience in the use of the triangular advanced flap to repair defects in the lateral nasal side on patients of the Dermatologic Institute of Jalisco “Dr José Barba Rubio” in the period of february 2013 to february 2014. Material and methods: 10 realized surgeries were analysed in the department of surgery, with diagnosis carcinoma basocelular localized in the lateral nasal side in the period of february 2013 to february 2014, being repaired with the triangular advanced flap. Results: 70% corresponded to men and 30% to women, the average age was 58 years. The average size of the tumour was 0.9 mm, a security border of 5 mm was assigned in 80% of the cases which conventional surgery was used and in 20% a border of 3 mm, these cases were treated with Mobs’ modified surgery, the result was an average effect of 1.4 cm. 10% of the cases presented epidermolysis. Conclusions: the triangular advanced flap was used to repair defects smaller than 2.5 cm in the lateral nasal side, only if the osteocartilaginous skeleton is not compromised, assures a functional and esthetical reconstruction with a minimum distortion of the near structures, the scars are nearly invisible because they’re on the limit of the esthetical units and subunits. It is easy to design and execute, it allows to repair any lateral part of the nose even in young patients. It represents an easy, creative and imaginative solution, ready to realize with local anesthesia and in ambulatory way.REFERENCES
