ABSTRACT
Liver adenoma (LA) is a rare benign neoplasm, localized mainly in the right lobe, 80% solitary, common in women of reproductive age, with prolonged oral contraceptive intake, the main complications are bleeding and its malignant degeneration. We present the case to review current concepts of this entity. Clinical case: 18-year-old male patient, no significant medical history. He is admitted to the emergency department with abdominal pain, and on the physical examination a right upper quadrant abdominal mass. Abdominal ultrasonography (USG) reports: possible hepatic neoplasia in right lobe, corroborated by abdominal tomography. CT-guided liver biopsy was performed resulting in hepatocellular adenoma. It was treated with partial hepatectomy and histopathological study showed a hepatic adenoma subtype beta catenin mutated. Conclusion: Liver adenoma is a recognized entity; therapeutic behavior is based on tumor size and molecular subtype.
