ABSTRACT
Indirect pulp treatment (IPT) and pulpotomy (POT) are actually the most accepted procedures to perform vital pulp therapy (VPT) in primary molars.
Recently TPI has gained great acceptance because it avoids the amputation of the pulp chamber keeping an intact pulp with all its reparative potential.
The main problem with TPI is diagnosis of the pulp status. In the present article, algorithms based in different variables like affected tooth and localization,
deep and activity of the caries lesion are proposed in order to guide the clinician step by step in the performance of a correct TPV.
