ABSTRACT
Introduction. There are scarce anthropological studies regarding deciduous dentition, epigenetic effects over dental expression of
anatomical characters that lay the foundations, wich allow comparative studies between population groups, both ancient and current, are
unknown.
Objective. To describe frequencies distribution of coronary NON metric morphological characteristics of deciduous dentition
of Mexican children in Puebla’s valley.
Methods. In an descriptive, clinical, cross sectional, observational prospective, multicenter and
heterodemic held in Puebla valley communities during 2014, both dental arches models, stratified by sex of preschool children’s local
population (n = 166) were analyzed as a sample. The measured variables are criteria Turner II of Arizona State University Dental Anthropology
System format under ordinal scale by a single observer (k = .9568).
Results. Majority of incisives presents labial convexity,
without wings, with palatine shoveling grade 1, don’t presents double labial shoveling. Canines don’t presents mesial ridge, but distal
rigde its present. In upper molars Carabellis Tuberculum is grade 1, hipocone; grade 2 and 3 are more frequent, as a metacone and
deflecting wrinkle in second lower molars grade 1, its prostostylide: grade 1 and presents also entoconide and hypoconulide.
Conclusion.
ASUDAS reference plaques were designed for permanent dentition, but its possible applied in deciduous dentition because is similar
forms in majority of dental organs. However, to lack of reports about similar studies. Dental anthropology is a field largery unexplored
by health personnel and it can provide valuable information on physical characteristics of modern populations.
