ABSTRACT
Coccidioidomycosis is an infections disease not necessarily notifiable. This accounts for our ignorance of its prevalence in supposed endemic areas in Mexico. This paper presents a resume of the known epidemiologic and clinical aspects of this mycosis as well as the laboratory tests that help to make a correct diagnosis. Finally the therapeutic possibilities are reminded, both for the simple cases and for the serious extrapulmonary invasion or the meningeal involvement.
