ABSTRACT
Interest and skills, as factors of psychological, psychomotor and motivational, are decisive to awaken the sense of wonder, of questioning reality or taste to perform an action, in our survey research. Object: “To characterize the factors which determine the interest for the investigation of nursing staff and evaluate the skills present in those who carry out research”. Methods: Study observational, descriptive and cross sectional was performed in two stages: first identification of the factors of interest and second staff with at least one investigation to assess the abilities and skills present. Th e subjects of study was of 100% of the nurses. Of collecting information, open interviews and a questionnaire with semi-structured questions, were applied, at second stage, the application of a designed one test, to obtain self assessment of research skills, with emphasis on the perception that has the personal nursing to perform research. Results: Of 214 nurses were studied 177 (83%), with a mean of age of 36, with a standard deviation of 10.46 years. Women 90%, Married 55.3%, 35% has superior studies, refers institutional support, and 87% of they are satisfied. Interest to investigate 32% and 51% refer that they would make it. Qualifi cation average: .70 in abilities for to investigate. The best score obtained was in search information and de minor: in ability to work in team. Conclusions: The nursing staff shows interest to perform research. Lack of interest negative factors was detected, the multiplicity of roles of women and the low income and of interest: academic level and age generated a motivation to professional self-improvement. Teamwork is the biggest weakness to develop research.REFERENCES
