ABSTRACT
TARGET: Characterize to the worker of central office of
SSJ with metabolic syndrome, 2013. It took out a study
descriptive,
Material and method: observational study
between July and December of 2013, with the participation
of 523 active workers, at the date of the study, formed by
personnel of administrative, medic and paramedic area,
together with general services that accept to participate
voluntary and informed. Obtaining with the sample 123
workers with clinic data of metabolic syndrome, of which
some variables of interest were analyzed, calculating
frequencies, measures of central tendency and percentage.
Results: of 123 workers diagnosed with metabolic
syndrome 64 (53%) were women and 59 (47%) were men,
age group from 40 to 49 years old were the most aff ected,
with 40 (32.5%)following the age group from 50 to 59
with 36 (29.2%). Th e body mass index (BMI) was the
parameter that best repeated with 47 (52.8%) of women
and 58 (51.7%) in men. It was the waist.
