Analysis of blood pressure and electrocardiographic changes in anesthesiologists at Hospital Ángeles Lomas during intubation of patients

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Stress has detrimental effects on the health of the anesthesiologist and its labor performance. At moment of considerable stress, it is the intubation. In this moment hemodynamics changes could be to appear.
Material and methods: We included all anesthesiologist of the Hospital Angeles Lomas that accepted that accepted to participate in the study (n = 32). Three measurements of the arterial pressure were realized in each case, including intubation. The electrocardiographic monitoring was realized whit Holter, we considered seven moments for the analysis. The analysis of the Holter was realized by cardiologists.
Results: We don’t found significant difference of intubation in comparison with the basal measurement in systolic arterial pressure (p = 0.161), diastolic arterial pressure (p = 0.707) and mean arterial pressure (p = 0.198) and heart rate (p = 0.855). No Cardiac dysrhythmias develop (p = 1) or alterations of the ST (p = 1). Significant difference was obtained when comparing all measurements at different moments, in the systolic pressure arterial (p = 0.000094), diastolic arterial pressure (p = 0.016) and mean arterial pressure (p = 0.007) and in the heart rate (p = 0.21).
Conclusion: We don’t found significant difference of intubation in comparison with the basal measurement in systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure as well as electrocardiographic changes in the anesthesiologist of the Hospital Angeles Lomas.
