Vascular pedicle width. An alternative to evaluate fluid overload in burn patients

ABSTRACT
Vascular pedicle width (VPW) is a measurement obtained from a chest radiograph. Is an indicator of circulating blood volume and volume overload. Serial VPW measurements may be useful to monitor the volume status change in patients receiving fluids during reanimation.
