ABSTRACT
Cicatricial alopecias (CA) are a group of disorders with a permanent
hair loss by replacement with fibrous tissue or hyalinized
collagen on hair follicles. It is subdivided into primary alopecias
in which the hair follicle is the main target of an inflammatory
process, and secondary when it is indirectly affected as a result
of trauma, infectious diseases, infiltrative diseases, thermal damage
or radiation. In this article we review just the primary CA.
