New technology in maxilofacial surgery

ABSTRACT

During the last decades the use of metallic material for rigid internal fixation systems has been a standard in facial trauma and orthognatic surgery. Now the use of reabsorbable material has change the perspective of rigid fixation in maxilofacial surgery. Advantages of this technology with a case presentation are discussed.
