ABSTRACT
Neurobiology states the existence of an anatomy of emotions, with
regions of the brain that have a crucial function on its experimentation,
as well as substances that regulate normal emotional, affective and
cognitive responses in the brain as neurotransmitters that relate to the
anxiety response. Structures as the medial hypothalamus, the
amygdala, periaqueductal grey substance (dPAG) constitute the main neural substratum for the integration of the aversive states in the
brain. Successful danger-orientation preparatory processes and
escape preparation seem to be bound to anxiety. For that reason it is
important to know the neurological role in the response of that
emotion. The objective of this paper is to give the generalities of
anxiety`s neurobiology for a better understanding of this emotion,
starting from the revise literature.
