ABSTRACT
Pilocytic astrocytomas are a rare tumor characterized by slow growth, which is much more common in pediatric
patients than in adults. 85 % are localized in cerebellum and an intraorbital localization is extremely rare. We present
the case of a 6 year old male which was evaluated due to a tumor that formed an orbital encephalocele. The
histopathology report stated it was a low grade pilocytic astrocytoma with a satisfactory short course outcome. This is
the first casa in medical literature of a pilocytic astrocytoma with orbital encephalocele.
