ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to associate the diagnostic evaluations on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with the final results of the course for two groups. The variables were the high school’s origin of students and the period in which this study was done. This result corresponds to 40 students per group during the periods of study 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). In the group for the period 2014-2015, the majority of students came from the College of Sciences and Humanities (CCH), UNAM and in 2015-2016 most students came from the National Preparatory School (ENP), UNAM. The results of the applied diagnostic evaluations were different between the two groups (P ‹ 0.0001) because in the 2014- 2015 period the group scores were lower. Final results of the two groups were different, the academic qualification was 5.87/10 and 7.78/10 for the period 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, respectively (P ‹ 0.0001). Whereas the diagnostic test to explore really the level of knowledge of students can be considered that the results suggest that previous knowledge was decisive for good success in learning Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.REFERENCES
