Satisfaction with the professional training in health information systems

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The national health system maintains a strategic and programmatic approach in its work that requires a constant flow of information for decision making. The training of graduates in Health Information Systems with a broad profile guarantees their performance in the services that allow information systems that integrate, validate, present and analyze information of interest, that is reliable, truthful and timely for decision making. Objective: To assess the satisfaction with the training of Health Information Systems graduates. Methods: Theoretical methods, qualitative and quantitative techniques and tools were used to obtain information. A sample was determined with a stratified twostage design considering the provinces as clusters and the services as stratum, in which the graduated personnel are located. A survey was conducted on 286 selected employees who graduated in the first five cohorts of the major. Results: A response was obtained from 79 employers and 132 employees, which represented the 73.8 % of the contacted people. 62.6 % corresponded to medical record and health statistics services; 24.6 % in scientific and technical information entities; and 12.8 % in the IT area, which is consistent with the location policy, by training sources. It was possible to appreciate that there is a high degree of satisfaction with the performance according to the competences of the personnel graduated with the Health Information Systems degree.REFERENCES
