ABSTRACT
The breast sarcoma are tumors of mesenchymal component constituting 0.2% to 1% of all breast tumors and less than 5% of the total. Among the risk factors are exposure to radiation (0.3%). The diagnosis is clinical, pathological and immunohistochemical. Prognostic factors are the histologic type, grade, mitosis, cell atypia and margin status. The overall 5-year survival reaches 60%, the 52% free of disease, local recurrence a year is 20%, and metastasize by up to 40%. Surgery is the initial treatment, the total mastectomy being indicated in larger tumors, is not indicated axillary dissection due to the low percentage of lymph node involvement. The use of RT is based on the principle of treating limb sarcomas. We report the case of female patient of 71 years diagnosed with left breast myxofibrosarcoma handled in total mastectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy.REFERENCES
