ABSTRACT
Objetive: Highlight the importance of an appropriate reproductive counseling for women with hereditary risk of dyslipidemia. We present two cases of patients, sisters with familial hypertriglyceridemia and pregnancy.Clinical case 1: Primigravid 22 years old women, diagnosed with HTGF from 13 years, managed with diet and fibrates to know about her pregnancy, coursing asymptomatic until the last quarter has abdominal pain and elevated triglycerides up to 3,229 mg/dL requiring treatment with insulin twice. It presents vaginal delivery at 37 weeks and tubal ligation is performed at 6 months.
Clinical case 2: A woman in second pregnancy, of 32 years old, diagnosed with HTGF at age 22, after her first pregnancy. During the first half of the second pregnancy takes control in a private physician, who manages with fibrates. During the last quarter has gradually elevated triglycerides up to 6,300 mg/dL, at 37 weeks, in most salpingectomy and caesarean section is performed. Patients were discharged with lipid-lowering handled after ruling in both pancreatic and liver complications.
Conclusions: Still a lot to learn from this disorder associated with pregnancy but should be a timely reproductive counseling for women at high irrigation.
