ABSTRACT
Objective: to identify the type of
microorganisms that are associated to
cervix erosion.
Methods: exfoliative
cervix-vaginal cytology were reviewed
of patients who went to the Cell Biology
Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine
of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma
de Puebla (fmbuap), from 2007 to
2016.
Results: 1 260 exfoliative cytology
were observed, 254 (20.15%) met the
inclusion criteria to cervical erosion.
Looking at the microscope 254 exudates
were recorded in 223 patients (87.79%)
with the following findings: 186 samples
(73.22%) revealed the presence of flora
coccoid; 27 patients (10.62%)
Lactobacillus
spp., 5 (1.90%) showed
Candida spp.,
3 (1.18%) with
Gardnerella vaginalis
(clue cells) and two Pap smears (0.78%)
reported
Trichomonas vaginalis. Finally,
in 31 samples (12.20%) the presence of
microorganisms were not found.
Conclusion:
the following microorganisms
associated to cervix erosion: excess of
coccoid flora,
Candida spp., G. vaginalis
and
T. vaginalis.
