ABSTRACT
Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic inflammatory disease that recurrently affects skin containing apocrine sweat glands, resulting in abscesses and scars. The axillary region is predominantly affected, which leads to limited mobility of the arm due to scar retraction. Although conservative management has been used to treat early-stage disease, it has limited efficacy and does not prevent recurrence. Therefore, the first choice for treatment of severe hidradenitis is the surgical resection of all lesions to prevent this recurrence. The latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap can be used as a good option for axillary reconstruction after radical excision of severe lesions of this pathology. The objective of this work is to present a case of this pathology and its bilateral axillary reconstruction with this flap once the patient agreed and signed the authorization for publication.
