ABSTRACT
Ectopic tooth eruption in the nasal cavity is a low-incidence disturbance which may involve both normal dental formula
and supernumerary teeth. The following etiological factors have been described: cleft lip and/or palate, displacement after a
surgical procedure in the premaxillary region and dentoalveolar trauma. These ectopic teeth are frequently associated with
symptoms such as chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction and pain, recurrent epistaxis, headache, nasal discharge, ulceration,
stench, septal deviation and nasal septal abscesses. Three cases of nasal ectopic eruption diagnosed and treated in the
Maxillofacial Surgery Service of the Hospital Juárez de México are presented.
