ABSTRACT
A tarsal coalition is an aberrant connection between 2 or more tarsal. Pain, subtalar valgus deformity and stiffness are suggestive of tarsal coalition. Surgical resection is treatment of choice without corrective treatment. The objective is to evaluate the functional and radiographic outcomes in patients with tarsal coalition treated with surgical resection based AOFAS- scale- MOXFQ-8- APS.
Material and methods: A study retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional study, a total of 59 patients with tarsal coalition, between 8- 22 years with clinical history complete, variables AOFAS scale -MOXFQ-8- APS described, description of complete surgical technique. Patients with radiographs in anteroposterior and lateral presurgical and postsurgical; underwent surgical treatment with resection a period of time from 2007 to 2012. For statistical analysis, measures of p Pearson (SPSS version 20.0) were used.
Results: Evaluation clinical findings were to AOFAS: 75, MOXFQ-8: 50 and APS: 5- 2 presurgical and postsurgical points in the last. Radiographic evaluation showed positive correlation in the measured angles mainly anteroposterior
Conclusions: A five year follow-up; using the scale of AOFAS- MOXFQ-8- APS postsurgical; in patients with tarsal coalition, the results are as follows: good: 21%, regular: 68% bad: 11.9%.
