ABSTRACT
Nineteen patients with Fournier’s disease were treated at the Juarez Hospital of Mexico, the age average was 46.8 years, there were
performed 14 colostomies (73.6%), with a mortality index of 21%. The most important facts in the treatment of this disease are:
early diagnosis, treatment of the concommitant diseases, surgical excition of the necrotic tissue, and antimicrobial right treatment.
Colostomy is indicated in patients with anal incontinence, rectal rupture, wide extension of the necrosis area, and immunologic
deficiency.
